At LFW Festival With Osman Studio, Fyodor Golan & Marta Jakubowski
While working to an incredibly fast pace, as only the fashion industry does, London Fashion Week’s main events flew by. This year, we collaborated with Peter Pilotto, 16Arlington, David Koma, and the Oxfam show, but our work was not complete when editors left for Milan. Because after LFW, there’s the London Fashion Week Festival, which allows for a deeper level of engagement with the brands, a broader group of fashionistas to see the collections, (and a few more much-needed bubbles-fuelled parties of course).
Along with our make-up artist Kristina Vidic, we were excited to create brand-new looks for different brands for London Fashion Week Festival, this time collaborating with Osman Studio, Fyodor Golan and Marta Jakubowski. Here’s a bit more about the looks, which were all highly lip-focused.
A honed architectural eye and bold use of colour is what London-based designer Osman Yousefzada is known for. His gowns, always sharply cut, are elegant and commanding. His AW19 collection was no different, full of fluff, shimmer and unabashed glamour. For his collection, Kristina did a ‘diffused lip’ which goes light to dark from the middle with a sort of stained effect. Kristina used Glazé Lip Lacquer in Safari, a coral pink that flatters all complexions.
To get the look, you can apply Glazé in the middle of the lips, and with a fluffy blending blush smudge colour towards the lip line. Using your ring finger lightly dab the colour on the edges to diffuse colour even more.
As the focus was kept on the lips, Kristina did brushed brows, no mascara and no eye makeup, and luminous skin created with Radiate BB cream and highlighter on the eyelids and cheekbones using our Highlight HD Palette.
Founded in 2011 by British designers Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman, the London-based duo is known for their colourful advanced-contemporary ready-to-wear. To complement the boldly hued clothes, we went bespoke when it came to lipstick, working with Kristina to create a custom orange shade, which was also diffused, going from light to dark. Keeping in trend that weekend, we kept the rest of the face polished but neutral with Radiate BB cream and the Highlighter HD Palette on the eyelids and cheekbones, allowing the lips to shine. If you’d like to recreate the look, try Pop Art or Mambo from the Matte Velour range, blotted down to a stain.
Known for her precise tailoring – she was trained in Germany after all – Marta Jakubowski’s AW19 collection was full of directional colourful outerwear and several glamorous gowns alike. The brand loved the diffused lips concept that Kristina was championing that weekend, so we went with it. As before, for the sake of balance, we simply perfected the complexion with Radiate BB cream and used the HD Palette on the lids and cheekbones, creating the perfect frame for that bold lip.
We’re already looking forward to the SS20 season, but until then, why not try our other runway-inspired looks?
