There’s nothing we love more than a celebrity wedding. So we were super excited to see the MM6 SS20 show at Milan Fashion Week reimagine the 1969 wedding of John Lennon and Yoko Ono for modern times.
If the iconic couple were Insta-loving, gender fluid, matcha latte-drinking millennials, we’re pretty sure this is what their wedding would look like. Playing with the idea of ‘opposites attract’, the collection by Maison Margiela’s sister line featured bride and groom looks mixed with streetwear.
Think blazers paired with tulle dresses and suits combined with women’s lingerie details. Though this was a womenswear collection, some of the looks were worn by men and we can confirm they will be produced in men’s sizing (who needs fashion rules anyway?)
Speaking of beauty - the looks for the show were created by make-up artist Nami Yoshida and are inspired by the idea of a bride the morning after her wedding. She’s woken up in last night’s make-up (with a slightly fuzzy head) after some heavy celebrating with loved ones. #wehaveallbeenthere. To get this nouveau newlywed look, apply the Radiate Beauty Balm all over the face for a glowly, natural-looking base. Its combination of pectin and argan seed oil will nourish your skin and add radiance. Perfect for mimicking that ‘just married’ glow.
Follow it up with the Seamless Cover Concealer. It’s the easiest way to hide any imperfections and veins and thanks to the light-reflecting particles your skin’s texture will appear softened. Just like magic.
Depending on your lip colour, finish up with a dab of Seamless Cover Concealer or a brown shadow from the Lustrous Corduroy palette on your lips. Your aiming to enhance your natural pigment for a kissable finish. The MM6 bride will no doubt be locking lips with her beau as soon as she’s walked the runway.
And voila! The MM6 look is now yours. No groom necessary.
