Three Interior Design Trends That Are Here To Stay

Whether you’ve been naughty or nice doesn’t really matter when it comes to kicking up your designer heels and partaking in some Christmas cheer to celebrate the festive season.

And who is going to judge your antics over the past year when they are three eggnogs deep?!

Even though we live and breathe beauty here at Code8, we are big believers in taking time away from the makeup counter to celebrate Christmas in style, naturally, with a flawlessly made-up face.

Call us bias but we consider London the high-priestess of Christmas celebrations. Europe’s largest city is unrivalled when it comes to the festive cheer, hosting a range of festivities during December that will more than make you jolly.

So, take a sip of mulled wine and take note of our selection of five Christmas celebrations for you to add to your diary. Grinches are not welcome.

1. Ice skating at Somerset House

Leave your ego at the door as your strap on a pair of skates for a late-night laugh with friends, skating lesson or dance at the DJs series Skate Late, all which take place next to a heavenly 40ft Christmas Tree.

After you are done filling your Instagram story with skating escapades, enjoy a gourmet meal and a warming beverage at Fortnum & Mason’s Fortnum Lodge.

Available from the 13 November- 13 January

2. Afternoon Christmas Tea at Claridge’s

For those who prefer a warm rug to a rink and a cheeky name drop, look no further than afternoon tea at London’s historic Claridge’s Hotel.

No other hotel does an afternoon delight quite like the Mayfair-based hotel which is beloved by The Queen, Madonna and Kate Moss. And at Christmas time they turn it up an extra decadent notch.

Claridge’s pastry chefs have crafted a festive take on their signature afternoon tea menu, which includes scones, pastries and fingers sandwiches, which will be available for £90 Monday-Friday and £95 Saturday-Sunday and includes carols from The Southend Children’s Choir.

Available from the 12 November – 1 January 2020

3. Christmas Movies at Kensington Palace

Taking in a Christmas film in the company of Kate and Wills is realistic as seeing Coleen Rooney catching up with Rebekah Vardy- it’s never going to happen.

However, the next best thing is booking a ticket to a festive flick at Kensington Palace’s Luna Cinema, an indoor pavilion located on the Orangery Lawn. Priced at £18.50 for one adult ticket, this is one festive event that won’t break the bank and features a bar which serves up an array of snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for you to enjoy as you take in holiday classics such as Love Actually, Elf, Home Alone, The Holiday and The Grinch.

Available from the 15-23 December.

 4. Saddlers’ Hall Christmas Wine Tasting

When it comes to picking the perfect wine to go with your Christmas feast no-one knows what constitutes a flawless drop better than alcohol e-tailer, Slurp.

The online connoisseurs are preparing to set your palette on fire this festive season with their Christmas Wine Tasting.

Held at the prestigious Saddlers Hall, located a stone's throw from St.Pauls Cathedral, those fond of a festive drop will not be short of choice with over fifty wines available to try and the help of winemakers, producers and suppliers on hand to ensure you select the perfect red or white.

There will also be a selection of spirits available for those who prefer a shot of vodka to a vino. To keep the Christmas spirit alive all night, we recommend stumbling (yes, you are wine testing after all), across to Gordon Ramsay’s famed Bread Street Kitchen for a bite eat once you are done selecting your festive drinking material.

Tickets available for £25 - click here to book.

 5. Trevor Nelson’s Soul Christmas at Royal Albert Hall

When it comes Christmas cool no-body does it better than Trevor Nelson...sorry Bill Nighy.

A trailblazer in London’s urban music scene, the BBC Radio 2 DJ and MBE honoree is bringing his brand of swagger to Royal Albert Hall for the first-time ever this December.

Trevor Nelson’s Soul Christmas is a one-off performance that sees Nelson bring together a range of special guest vocalists to perform hit songs, re-imagined and re-scored, with the backing of the BBC Concert Orchestra.

No word yet on who these mysterious names are, but Trevor has one of the best little black books in the UK music scene, so rest assured this will be a night to remember.

Pop in to esteemed Kensington speakeasy bar, Bart’s London, for a much-deserved night cap after the performance to keep the party going. You can thank us later.

7.30pm December 16. Tickets range from £34 to £85  - click here to book your tickets.
