Understanding Your Undertone

Determining your own undertone can be puzzling but choose one of four quick ways to figure out your undertone:

  1. The metals test:

If you look better in gold jewellery, you have  warm undertones.

If you look better in silver, then you have  cool  undertones, and if you can wear both, you have  neutral undertones.

  1. The white clothes test:

If white clothing enhances your skin tone, you have  warm undertones.

If it washes you out, you have  cool undertones.

  1. The vein test:

Look at the veins on your wrist. If they're slightly greenish, then you have  warm undertones.

If they appear blue or have a purple tinge to them, then you have  cool undertones.

If you have a mix of green and blue, then you have  neutral undertones.

  1. The sun test:

If you usually get darker in the sun but never burn, you have  warm undertones.

If you also get darker in the sun but sometimes burn, you have  neutral undertones.

If you get burn easily in the sun, you have  cool undertones.

  • If you have cool undertones: look for products in the Code8 range starting with C or NC.
  • If you have warm undertones: look for products in the Code8 range starting with W or NW.
  • Neutral means you have a mix of warm and cool tones. Look for products in the Code8 range starting with N.

If you are able to physically swatch the products. Try the methods below to find the perfect match.

  1. Find your perfect  Radiate Beauty Balm shade with a swipe test. Apply a little bit of product along your jawline to see which shade blends perfectly into your skin tone. Try several hues to find your best match.
  2. If your neck is much lighter than your face or chest, you should go for a shade in between the colour of your face and neck. This way, everything looks like it blends together seamlessly.
  3. Complexions with strong freckles usually have a lighter base colour. Choose the colour one shade darker than your natural base and lightly blend into the face. If you go with a shade that’s too light, the freckles can appear ashy.

Application

  1. When applying  Radiate Beauty Balm, start from the centre of your face and work outward. This will give the most natural finish.
  2. Use a makeup sponge, fingers or a brush to apply and buff out your beauty balm. If applying with a sponge, damp it first to avoid product waste – this way you can get a sheerer and smoother coverage. Use a brush for higher coverage but be sure to blend everything in nicely to avoid any lines. Use your fingers for a quick and easy application.
  3. To make your beauty balm last all day, use a fluffy makeup brush to dust a little bit of our  Matte Velour Powder over your T-zone or any area you want a matte finish.
