Keep reading, and we’ll explore how Alexa’s style has changed over the years and how she went from a model in the 1990s to a global style icon and entrepreneur.
THEN & NOW: HOW ALEXA CHUNG'S STYLE HAS EVOLVED OVER THE YEARS
Since the start of her career, Alexa has been obsessed with 90s style, but she’s always made it her own and turned ordinary looks into something magical.
In the 1990s, when her career took off, Alexa focused on casual jeans and funky prints, when she wasn’t on the catwalk wearing the latest high-end designs.
As her career took off in the early 2000s, she experimented with some bold looks, such as her iconic pink Luella prom dress and quirky Future Classics ensemble.
In 2010 Alexa embraced the unusual in a unique take on a tuxedo from Phillip Lim. She was also known for championing British brands such as Burberry and Mulberry, who named their now-classic bag Alexa in her honour in that same year.
Then in 2015, Alexa became known for her relaxed and funky style. Around that time, she was part of the revival of dungarees as she was regularly pictured rocking them in unusual and unique outfits.
Today, Alexa is still renowned for her inventive, relaxed style and unique flair for creating transfixing looks from seemingly commonplace components.
Her name is now a byword for comfortable style and using wardrobe staples to transform every outfit. Alexa is so respected that she designed collections for a variety of respected fashion houses, including the British country chic institution Barbour and fashion icon Mulberry.

HOW THE SURREALIST MOVEMENT HAS
INFLUENCED HER STYLE
In creating her inventive outfits and transforming even the most ordinary outfit into something unforgettable, Alexa takes inspiration from various sources.
One of these influences is the Surrealist movement, which originated in the 1920s in the artistic community, with many painters embracing this unique style.
Influenced by Freud and other psychoanalysts, the movement embraced bold motifs that are representative of vivid dreamscapes.
Over the years, the movement has been adopted by leading fashion designers. Many prints embrace motifs from Dalí and other surrealist painters, and some adapt them to create unique looks.
Many famous surrealist artists, including Dalí and Frida Kahlo, are now fashion icons, and their memorable portraits are emblazoned across t-shirts, jumpers, dresses and more.
The surrealism movement has now influenced the world of cosmetics thanks to Code8’s new Lip Surrealist Lip Liner range.
Our new lip liner range is inspired by the surrealist movement and its dedication to embracing beauty in the unconventional and unique.
Our liners are a tribute to the visions of key proponents of the movements such as Salvador Dalí, Frida Kahlo and Pablo Picasso, and the stunning portraits of women they painted.
These artists rallied against conventional beauty and painted faces that represented intelligence and true feminine strength.
Our lip liners aim to give every woman the chance to showcase her inner beauty and strength. The products themselves are stunning and long-lasting, and they’re encased in gorgeous, surrealist-inspired packaging designed by Australian Artist Jessica Yolande Kaye. From the packaging to the product itself, every aspect of our new Lip Surrealist range has been designed to give modern women the confidence they need to be their authentic selves and achieve their goals.
WHY ALEXA CHUNG CONTINUES TO BE THE PERFECT BRAND AMBASSADOR FOR CODE8
As Alexa’s career has taken off, she’s learned how to style quirky, relaxed outfits and turn them into beautiful looks that are ideal for formal situations.
Her makeup has always been flawless and timeless, and she’s a fan of a classic red lip and a practical nude for everyday wear.
As a fan of spotless lipstick, Alexa knows the value of a reliable lip liner. A quality lip liner blends well with a variety of lipsticks and remains as a barrier to stop the colour from bleeding into your foundation.
She looks incredible in our Lip Surrealist pencils and can perfectly rock our limited edition lip liner and lipstick duos.
Our Lip Surrealist range is inspired by the surrealist movement’s love of creative motifs and bold styles that step outside of ordinary conventions, which is how Alexa has always styled herself.
That’s why Alexa is the ideal person to act as a Brand Ambassador for Code8 and support our latest lip liner launch.
We’re excited to share our lip liners with you, and we hope that you love them as much as we do. Alexa looks amazing in our Lip Surrealist Lip Liners, and you can too.
