How to Wear Day to Night Foundation at 40

Iconoclast Eyeshadow Palette

Lash Sophisticate Mascara - High Definition Mascara

Highlight HD Palette

Matte Velour Lipstick

Step 1

To begin this makeup tutorial for mature skin, our makeup artist goes in with a swipe of the Day To Night Foundation across each cheek and down the nose. She then recommends blending this outwards using either a brush or your fingers. We understand that when applying foundation at 40 women can have different preferences in terms of coverage and finished look. One of the great things about this foundation is that it is buildable, so you are able to add as much or as little more to achieve your desired finish.

Step 2

Conceal any blemishes or dark circles using the Seamless Cover Concealer. We recommend applying to the desired area using the wand and then patting it into your skin using a finger.

Step 3

Next, we like to set the look skin products using the Matte Velour Face Powder. This is especially important when applying foundation at 40 as its Seabum absorbing particles mean that you will never look shiny, even on the busiest of days!

Step 4

Now, to add a little more depth to your complexion and accentuate your features, we recommend swiping a little of the bronzer under your cheekbones, up your temples and across the top of your forehead.

Step 5

Now that you have achieved a flawless base using this makeup tutorial for mature skin, its time to move onto the eyes. In this makeup tutorial we are using the Burnt Sienna palette which benefits from a range of shades suitable for day and night use. We don't like to overcomplicate our looks and this makeup tutorial for mature skin is no different, here we use just 2 shades on the eyes, a darker one to line and define your lashes and a highlighter to amplify the inner corners of your gaze.

Step 6

To finish the eyes, we recommend a lashing of your favourite mascara, the Lash Sophisticate High Definition Mascara is a great option here.

Step 7

Now, time to add some drama. Here we opted for the Matte Velour Lipstick in the shade "Pop Art".

Step 8

The last step in this makeup tutorial for mature skin is to add a little highlight to the apples of your cheeks, we love the Highlight HD Palette due to its stunning colour payoff and skin-softening properties.

We hope this makeup tutorial has helped you on your quest to find a makeup look for your mature skin as well as given you some tips on applying foundation at 40. For more makeup-artist approved tips and tricks, head over to our other tutorials
